Bruny vs. Glenorchy Rodman (Away)

Glenorchy Rodman defeated Bruny 10 - 4 (81 to 73 shots)

We travelled early to Glenorchy Rodman so that we had plenty of time for a practice before the game. The green, although spongy, was flat and rolled well. The weather was sunny and still. Upon our arrival we were treated to an excellent morning tea.

The game proceeded as a close contest with hardly any difference in the shots between the two sides. However Glenorchy Rodman drew away at the end to win on two rinks with a total margin of 8 shots. Our best performed rink was that of Ashley, Scott, Penaia and Chris who won by 2 shots. Penaia was playing his first game in the position of No 3 replacing Noel Moore who is in hospital.

Our Pennant season has come to an end. We finished in 5th spot on the ladder with 132 points - equal with 4th position New Norfolk but with a lower percentage. We did prove we are competitive in Division 2 but it is obvious we will need to handle the grass greens better in the future.

The final Pennant standings are Kingborough 142, Orford 135, Sandy Bay 133, New Norfolk 132, Bruny 132, Franklin 130, Glenorchy Rodman 125, Oatlands 118, Taroona 108, St. Johns Park 105.

Kingborough is being promoted to Division 1 replacing Beltana and St. Johns Park are being relegated to Division 3 replacing Buckingham. Beltana and Buckingham will be in Division 2 next season.
