Bruny vs. Kingborough (Away)

Bruny defeated Kingborough 10 - 4 (87 to 78 shots)

At long last the Away Game hoodoo is broken. We have won our first Away Game for the season.

It was interesting playing on the inside carpet at Kingborough. Many of us had not played there before but didn't have much of a problem adapting as it is not dissimilar to our green. The main advantage of the inside rink is that there are only two factors which influence play - Line and Length. Once those are established it is much easier to play than having to worry about other influences. They being Wind, Length of grass, roughness of surface, dryness or wetness of green, Rain (even Hail) softness of surface, dry patches or bare patches on green. Every grass green on which we play has some or many of those influences and we need to overcome them early in a game to win Away Games.

We can do it. We are now back in the top four and with a determined effort should stay there.

Our best performing rink of this game was that of Ashley, Scott, Noel and Chris who led throughout the game , finally winning by 16 shots. Well done!
