Bruny vs. Howrah (Away)

Howrah defeated Bruny 10 - 4 (90 to 85 shots)

It was the first trip to Howrah for most of the Bruny Bowlers. After last week's loss to Glenorchy/Rodman on a slower grass green it was with much trepidation that Bruny was to play the ladder leaders at home.

Upon arrival the Bruny players enjoyed an excellent morning tea whilst they admired the magnificent facilities at the new Indoor Bowls centre.

Bruny performed very well on the larger than usual 8 rink grass green. It took a while for the players to adapt to the very long ends whilst Howrah gained a good start being ahead by 12 shots on two of the rinks. In the end the Bruny players rallied losing only by 5 shots over the last few ends even at one stage being in front.

The best performing rink on the Bruny side was that of Traci Hampson, Janice Higgins, Leigh Higgins and Martin Hampson(Skip) which although down 1 to 12 after the first 4 ends staged a great comeback to eventually win by 8 shots.

Although slipping to 6th spot on the ladder a position in the Final Four is a possibility with wins in the final four games of the roster.
